Indian Hills Inn is CLOSED — official MOS wins; cite leftover inn copy

MilitaryINSTALLATIONS temporary housing (checked 27 Aug 2026): “There is no temporary housing on Tinker Air Force Base. Please refer to long-term stay options in the local area or your sponsor for suggestions. The Relocation Program Manager at the Military Family Readiness Center has an updated list of hotels within a 20-minute drive from the installation. Please call 405-739-2747 with any questions.”

Same MOS TLF page, Pets: “The Indian Hills Inn on Tinker Air Force Base is CLOSED. Check with the local hotels off base if they have pet-friendly rooms.”

Same MOS TLF page, Reservations: “Indian Hills Inn is CLOSED. There is no temporary housing on base. Off base hotels are being used for temporary housing. Travelers on official orders to the installation may make reservations to the local hotels downtown.”

housing.af.mil Tinker AFB (search index of the official page; this datacenter got 403 on 27 Aug 2026): unaccompanied-housing copy still names Indian Hills Lodge, beside the Tinker Club on Arnold Street, for after-hours checkout of 72-hour rooms, phone (405) 734-5095 / DSN 884-5095. That is leftover inn language on an official housing page. Official MOS + 72 FSS + the 2022 closure article say the inn is closed. Official closure wins. Cited, not flattened. Do not treat housing.af.mil leftover copy as a live 24-hour inn.

tinker.af.mil Newcomers: this datacenter got 403 on 27 Aug 2026. Still linked. We did not invent 24-hour-inn or “Sooner Inn” copy to fill the gap. Reprint guides that still describe a 24-hour arrival inn or an open Indian Hills Inn were not used.

405-739-2747 is on MOS temporary housing (hotel list), MOS check-in (Right Start registration; “no later than five business day prior”), MOS sponsorship, and 72 FSS Right Start / EFMP / casualty lines (Building 6001, Arnold St.).

405-734-2747 is on MOS relocation assistance (“Call the Military and Family Readiness Center - 405-734-2747 for more information”) and on 72 FSS for Relocation/Sponsorship Awareness Class registration and PCS Brief / Remote Tour one-on-ones.

Those are not the same number. We will not pick a winner. Monthly. We did not call either today.

Right Start — monthly, not flattened to one clock time

MOS check-in: Right Start (Newcomers Orientation) “is held each month.” All attendees must register by calling M&FRC at 405-739-2747, no later than five business days prior. Briefings listed there include the installation commander and 72d Air Base Wing Command Chief; 552d Air Control Wing Commander and Wing Command Chief; 72d IG, EO, Housing Referral, Emergency Management, 72d SFS, Med Group, and M&FRC. 20 hours of free child care is available within 60 days of arrival (same MOS check-in and MOS relocation pages).

MOS relocation assistance: upon arrival, take the Right Start Newcomers’ Briefing. In-person. 72d Base Commander together with the 552 ACW Commander welcomes members and families. Before arrival: Virtual Pre-arrival orientation; PCSing members receive an email explaining programs and how to sign up. We are not inventing a Teams URL.

72 FSS M&FRC (checked 27 Aug 2026): Right Start is the Wing Commander’s program. Mandatory for military members. Spouses cordially invited. Held every 2nd Wednesday of the month in the low PCS season, and every 2nd and 4th Wednesday during the high PCS season. Held at M&FRC Building 6001, Arnold St. Call 405.739.2747 to register. Climate and weather Seasonal / annual

Tinker is NWS WFO OUN (Norman / Oklahoma City). tinker.af.mil newcomers 403’d from this datacenter on 27 Aug 2026. We will not invent climate numbers (average snowfall, record high, “how many tornadoes”) to fill the gap. Use NWS:
