No on-base TLF — cite the official pages, ignore reprint inns
MilitaryINSTALLATIONS temporary housing (checked 27 Aug 2026): “Grand Forks AFB no longer has an on-base Temporary Lodging Facility. Please consult your Sponsor, the Military Housing Office, the Air Force Connect app, or the Relocation Assistance Program with M&FRC for assistance finding lodging in the community.”
Welcome Newcomers (grandforks.af.mil): “Previously available temporary lodging facility Warrior Inn on Grand Forks AFB is now permanently closed. Commercial temporary lodging is available in the city of Grand Forks.” Also: “No temporary lodging or billeting is available on base.” Families PCSing and members on TDY should work with sponsors and review options in the Defense Travel System. Hours and seminar day on that page are Monthly.
MOS check-in (retrieved 27 Aug 2026): make temporary lodging reservations off-base prior to arrival; there is no TLF on base. Same page: if arriving during duty hours, contact your unit; if outside duty hours, make sure sponsor and unit know your plans.
319 FSS: there is no public lodging / Warrior Inn page on grandforks319fss.com (lodging and warrior-inn URLs 404 on 27 Aug 2026). Relocation help is M&FRC, not a desk at a closed inn.
Reprint guides still describe a 24-hour Warrior Inn. We are not using those. Official MOS + grandforks.af.mil say the inn is closed. We will not invent a downtown hotel list.
Newcomers seminar — 7:45, not flattened with a stale 7:30
Welcome Newcomers: Newcomer’s Orientation Seminar, second Wednesday of every month, 7:45 a.m.–3:00 p.m., Military and Family Readiness Center. Commander-directed. Spouses of military members and civilian employees recently arrived are in the official description.
MOS check-in and 319 FSS M&FRC (checked 27 Aug 2026): second Wednesday, beginning 7:45 a.m., Building 207 / 575 Holzapple St. MOS: mandatory for arriving permanent party Air Force members; spouses, children, and civilians welcome; CSS has registration QR codes; initial Equal Opportunity training is part of it. 319 FSS: sign-up required via CSS QR or the OSI forms link on that FSS page; spouses encouraged.
A 2025 events-calendar item on grandforks.af.mil listed a January 8, 2025 session 7:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. That is not the 7:45 start on the live Welcome / MOS / FSS pages. We will not pick 7:30 as current. Seminar day and hours are Monthly.
Pre-Arrival Orientation: MOS check-in says third Wednesday of every month, 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. CST, Microsoft Teams. MOS relocation page also describes a virtual pre-arrival on the third Wednesday. 319 FSS describes a one-hour virtual orientation (Grand Forks AFB and Cavalier SFS) and tells you to email 319rw.mfrc.fsh@us.af.mil. We are not flattening the FSS blurb into a fake extra time slot.

Grand Forks is NWS WFO FGF, not Bismarck. grandforks.af.mil newcomers / fact sheets 403’d from this datacenter on 27 Aug 2026. We will not invent climate numbers (average snowfall, record low, “how cold it gets”) to fill the gap. Use NWS:
Winterize the car. That is common sense for eastern North Dakota, not a fake quote from a blocked fact sheet. Vehicle-specific gear (block heaters, tires) is Auto Hobby / a local shop / the vehicle manual — not a random ASIN we invent.
